Book of the Week

I happened upon this book at the library- I went to pick up a book that I had on hold, and only had a few minutes to see what is on the shelf.  What a good find!

Matthew Robbins designs whole weddings based on an item or a memory that the couple holds dear to their hearts.  In this book he designs a wedding with a citrus theme- bringing out the colors, shape and feel of the Napa Valley.  He also does a wedding inspired by french candies (some people bring back candy from their vacation spots), reminding the couple of their favorite places.

I just love the idea of letting your inspiration for your wedding or home come from something that is important to you.  He doesn't stick with trends of the moment, but instead makes it completely about the couple.  That way the design elements are always close to your heart and timeless.

It makes me wonder if I were to redesign my apartment, where would I look for inspiration?

Brand New Blog

Welcome to our new blog!

This blog will be written by myself, Amanda, as well as by my sweet Mom, Terri.  We think of ourselves as very crafty ladies!  We always seem to have a project (or two) on the go, and we thought that this would be a great place to share those ideas with whoever wants to listen!

In case you were wondering why we chose "grass cloth green" for our blog title- it's actually quite simple.  Both my Mom and I have beautiful green walls in our houses and grass cloth is the name Behr has given for that shade!  We thought it was kinda catchy!

It reminds me that inspiration can come from anywhere, we just need to be willing to open our eyes to see the possibilities.  Thanks for reading!  We are going to have so much fun.
